西萨克拉门托 has a Council/Manager form of government. Citizens elect four City 委员会成员s by district (as of the November, 2022 election) who serve four year terms and directly elect the mayor who serves a four-year term. The City currently holds elections on the first Tuesday of November in even numbered years.

Anyone wishing to address the Council should submit either attend the 市议会 meeting to provide verbal comment or submit comments in writing by 3:30 PM on the day of the meeting by emailing clerk@sqzibizheng.com and writing “Public Comment” and the Item Number in the subject line. For comments about something that is not on the current agenda, please note the comment is under Item 1A. All comments received by 3:30 PM will be provided to the 市议会 and posted on the website. The comments submitted shall become part of the record of the meeting. The Council will not make comments or take action regarding your subject matter, but may address it at a later date or assign it to staff for further follow-up.

You may contact the City Clerk's office at (916) 617-4500 and leave a message for any of the 委员会成员s. Messages will be relayed either by e-mail, telephone or direct contact with the respective 委员会成员. For MEDIA inquiries, please call our Communications staff at (916) 617-4516.

You may send correspondence for any of the 委员会成员s to the 市文员办公室, 1110 West Capitol Avenue, 三楼, 西萨克拉门托, CA 95691. All correspondence will be delivered to the 委员会成员(s) on Friday afternoons and on Council meeting Wednesdays.
